American Bobtail cat overview

Developed in the US in the 1960s, from naturally occurring tailless cats. Females are generally smaller than males, but both possess a distinct, wild-look 'type'. Possessed of an exceptionally amiable and inquisitive disposition. There are shorthaired and longhaired varieties, although the shorthaired coat is long enough to appear shaggy.

Brawny, wild-looking cat; semi cobby, with a well-muscled body.
Broad, wedge-shaped head with oval-shaped, angled eyes and medium-sized, high-set ears.
Short tail that stops above the hocks.

Double coated and weather resistant.

Eye colours
Any colour, but not odd.
All patterns.
High rufusing desirable in all tabbies.
Ghost patterns highly desirable in lynx points.
