Toyger cat overview
A real designer cat and breed in development, originated in 1980 in California. Bred to resemble tigers in the wild but with the nature of a domestic cat. Currently only recognized by the TICA.
Quiet temperament, intelligent, friendly and outgoing.

Size
Medium:
Males are 10-15 pounds.
Females are 7-10 pounds.
Build
Long, dense and muscular.
Tail long and rope-like.
Hair quality
Thick, luxurious and soft.
Short coat.
Colours
Tabby markings black to brown or even tan.
Selection for white muzzle.
Brown to orange background colors.
Selection for underwhite – ventral white of belly, not bicolor.
Patterns
Modified mackerel tabby. Branched, bold, vertical stripes in a random pattern. Markings are selected to be vertical and well spaced like a tiger. Markings should be in a circular pattern. Pattern enhanced by scatter of gold glitter.
