Border Collie overview

Originated in Great Britain for use as sheep herders in the Scottish Borders. Not suitable for the urban environment, prefering to live and sleep outside and likes a colder climate.

Easily obedience trained but does require a lot of exercise. Very affectionate and usually good with children. Strong working and predatory instincts can make it a difficult pet. If not kept in a constantly stimulating environment they can become destructive, trying to herd people or other dogs, and may become snappy.
